Matthew was pleased to bring Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, to Mill Hill. The Minister was taken on a tour of Mill Hill’s Allianz Park by Chief Executive, Edward Griffiths, where he was given the opportunity to see how Saracens RFC are encouraging the local community to use the range of facilities that Allianz Park has to offer.
The Minister and Matthew, along with Mill Hill Councillors John Hart and Sury Khatri, were given an insight into the programmes Allianz Park and Saracens RFC are currently implementing to inspire older citizens and young people with autism into sport.
Matthew said: “It was a pleasure to take the Secretary of State to see this great sporting facility here in the heart of Mill Hill. The Minister was impressed with the community engagement programmes being undertaken by Saracens to bring people into a range of sports as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.
"I was pleased to see the work that the Club is doing to encourage younger and older people into sport and I am delighted that Allianz Park is being used by local residents and not just rugby fans.”
