This weekend, as remembrance commemorations took place across the country, Matthew attended services in his constituency.
In Hendon, Matthew laid a wreath as people came together at the Hendon War Memorial to remember those who lost their lives in battle.
After the service in Hendon, Matthew attended Edgware United Synagogue for the Annual Remembrance Service in honour of the 21 young Jewish residents of Edgware who lost their lives in service in the Second World War. Their names are engraved on the 1951 AJEX Memorial Candelabra in Edgware United Synagogue.
Matthew said: “It is always an honour to attend these poignant services across my constituency in honour of those who have lost their lives fighting for our country.
“Remembrance Sunday is a time to reflect on those who have sacrificed so much. These past few years have marked important centenaries and next year will be very special as it will mark the centenary of Armistice Day which brought an end to the First World War.”
