Matthew visited the StoneX Stadium in Mill Hill to see for himself how mass vaccinations are taking place in the Hendon constituency. He was accompanied by Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers.
Touring the facilities, Matthew saw how 1000 people a day are being vaccinated, with numbers being extended to 1500 at the weekend. Having received both vaccine doses himself, Matthew is very keen to ensure that everyone takes the opportunity to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
In addition to his visit, Matthew has volunteered as a vaccine marshall at a local GP surgery. In this role he has been taking names and helping people through the process in order to be vaccinated.
Matthew said: “Now that the Prime Minister has announced the suspension of the lifting of restrictions on the 21st of June, it is vitally important that as many people as possible receive the vaccination. Some people say there is no point having a vaccination as the lockdown is continuing but the reality is that they should be vaccinated so that the Covid restrictions can come to an end.
"The facilities are available locally and I urge everyone to make use of them in order to end the lockdown restrictions.”
