Matthew was delighted to attend the Burnt Oak Nepalese Community's annual summer barbecue in Milton Keynes.
The event is held for members of the community to socialise with family and friends in a green space outside their immediate area. This year the location was so far away because the community were not able to hire a green space from the London Borough Barnet due to its policy of not allowing food to be cooked in parks and other green spaces. This is a matter that Matthew has pledged to take up with the Leader of the Council.
A presentation of a cheque for Macmillan Cancer Care for £664.72 was made to Matthew on behalf of the group.
Matthew said: "After the election campaign it was great for so many people to be able to relax and enjoy themselves in a tranquil place. The day also raised money for a very worthwhile cause."
