Matthew attended an awards ceremony in Parliament that honoured organisations providing additional education for children across London.
One recipient of an award was BritSom, a UK registered charity and the main organisation working with Somali and BMER communities of all ages in Mill Hill. Volunteers at Bristol focus on Maths and English homework (National Curriculum Key Stage 1 to 4), amongst a variety of academic and non-academic issues.
BritSom is known to many in the Hendon constituency and Matthew has previously taken the International Development Secretary to see their work helping people of Somalian heritage gain qualifications.
Matthew said “I am tremendously proud of the work of BritSom in making such a positive contribution to civic life in the Hendon constituency. Their work has now been acknowledged by the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education.”
