Schools in the Hendon constituency who took part in the Tesco for Schools & Clubs scheme received their items at an award ceremony in Burnt Oak. Matthew presented teachers and pupils with ICT, sports goods and learning resources from Tesco store staff. One voucher is given for every £10 spent in Tesco stores and petrol filling stations in a single transaction. Customers can also get 10 Tesco for Schools & Clubs vouchers for every empty inkjet cartridge sent in that can be recycled.
One teacher and two pupils were invited to attend from the following schools:
• Matilda Marks-Kennedy School
• Annunciation RC Infant School
• Deansbrook Junior School
• Woodcroft Primary School
Matthew said: “The Tesco for Schools & Clubs scheme gives UK schools and clubs a range of valuable equipment in exchange for vouchers earned with shopping bought at Tesco. Last year Tesco gave over 440,000 items worth a staggering £9.3m to schools and clubs around the country and I am pleased that children in my constituency are benefitting from this scheme.”
