Matthew was pleased to see for himself the construction of the new Jain Temple in Colindale. As a regular visitor to the former centre, Matthew witnessed how the building will create an impressive three-storeyed structure that will be open to the whole community of Barnet.
The ground and first floors will feature a community centre with multi-purpose rooms, a large hall, cafe/dining hall and a multi-faith centre, with a place of worship and study on the second floor.
The Hendon constituency is well served by a variety of churches, temples and mosques and the Jain temple, paid for by the local community but open to all, will be a valuable addition to the whole of Barnet and the North West of London.
Matthew said: “The temple’s construction is an exciting opportunity for Colindale. It will provide a variety of activities which will be open to everyone including yoga, a community space, and a dining hall. Many people have become interested in different religions and experiences and the Jain Centre will be a local facility that will offer the possibility for them to learn more. Situated on the A5, it really will be a gateway to the Hendon constituency and I look forward to the official opening.”
