Matthew visited Bhaktivedanta Manor, Shree Swaminarayan Sidhant and Sri Saddhatissa temples this week to visit and speak to devotees and constituents.
On his visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor, run by the International Society of Krishna Consciousness, Matthew spoke with His Grace Sruti Dharma Das to discuss issues in the community. Devotees at the temple were delighted to hear that Matthew has been a vegetarian for 34 years.
Matthew also attended Sri Saddhatissa with constituents to support and pray for victims of the catastrophic flooding in Sri Lanka over recent months.
Matthew said: “Hendon is a richly diverse constituency and I have been a regular visitor to the temples that serve my constituents since I was elected to Parliament seven years ago. It was an honour to receive blessings at both Bhaktivedanta Manor and Sri Saddhatissa.
“Dharmic values such as duty, conduct and virtue are shared by the Conservative Party and myself and I believe that we could all take inspiration from these principles to better ourselves and our society.”
