Matthew was pleased to attend the St Margaret’s Church Fun Day in Edgware. In addition to being a popular community event, it marked the beginning of the departure of Rev Sally Baily, who is moving on to her next parish. Sally has been serving the Edgware parish for the last five years, along with her husband Hammad. She began her working life at the London Stock Exchange but changed career to enter the Church.
Alongside Hammad, Sally has travelled extensively including to Pakistan where she has advocated for persecuted Christians through the Voice for Jesus music ministry. Hammad and Sally have used this same music platform for worshipping in Edgware.
In addition to family activities, those attending the Fun Day were able to climb the church’s bell tower to see the workings of the clock, inspect the bell tower, view Edgware from the top of the tower and even ring the church’s bells.
Matthew said: “Sally and Hammad have been a great addition to the Edgware community and they will be greatly missed. As a fellow guitar player, I have appreciated the use of contemporary instruments in the church. But the highlight for me was to meet up with Sally and Hammad when we were both on separate visits to Pakistan. I wish them both well in Sally’s next ministry as Vicar of the Holy Trinity Church in Hounslow.”
