Matthew took time out from Parliament today to visit Advocacy in Barnet in Grahame Park to congratulate the Charity on being honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK. The official award will be presented in September at an event to honour and celebrate over 60 volunteers who have contributed to the charity’s work.
Advocacy in Barnet offers a free independent advocacy service to people aged 50 and over living in the Borough of Barnet and surrounding Boroughs.
Commenting on the award Matthew said: “Advocacy in Barnet has proved to be a vital charity enabling many of my constituents to be provided with support and advice on issues and decisions that directly impact on their lifestyle”.
