"The security services have raised the terrorism threat level for the UK to Critical. This means that a further incident is expected in the UK imminently. It does not necessarily mean this is Hendon, Barnet or London. 

"The decision to raise the level is made by JTAC (Joint Targeting and Assessment Centre) which receives intelligence from police and other agencies. They see the sensitive intelligence and are as informed as possible.  JTAC then advise the Government.

"We must remind ourselves to be alert but not alarmed. There is no specific intelligence of any threat to Hendon but we must be prepared and be cautious. I have contacted the Police Commander at Colindale, the Leader of the Council, the CST and the West Hendon and Edgware mosques to ensure we all have what is needed to keep people safe. I have decided to suspend campaigning for a second day after the terrible event in Manchester."
