Matthew says: "Today's General Election is crucial to our country's future prosperity.

"Jeremy Corbyn and Labour would increase taxes to the highest level since the Second World War. They would introduce a new tax on property and gardens which could treble council tax bills. They would give in to the EU over Brexit.

"The Conservatives have cut taxes, created jobs and cut the deficit by two thirds. We must now strengthen Theresa May's hand to get the best deal on Brexit. The outcome of our negotiations is critical to almost every aspect of our lives - our economic security, local jobs, schools, hospitals, housing and our national security.

"Only the Conservatives can deliver a strong and secure future for our country."
