“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this tragic incident and their families. It is humbling to see so many Londoners coming together to help the victims and all those that have been affected.

“I’m pleased that the Prime Minister will chair a cross-Whitehall meeting later and has set up a public inquiry into the fire. There will also be a criminal investigation.

“I have contacted Barnet Council and the Leader of the Council to enquire about fire safety precautions across the Borough with a view to addressing any concerns of my constituents.”
