Matthew was delighted to present his constituent with a Youth Achievement Award at a ceremony in the Houses of Parliament.
The awards, organised by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), honoured young people who have in some way impacted the lives of others around them and beyond.
Joined by her family, Hannah Marie Lynch from Hendon was presented her award by Matthew. Hannah works with special needs students and is passionate about helping people in need. She has a history of regular volunteer work, including at her local Crisis centre on Christmas Day, and has recently been working with the UPF alongside Syrian refugees and fellow Young Achievers.
Matthew said of the occasion: “I was honoured to present Hannah with her well-deserved Youth Achievement Award. Her selflessness and positive attitude towards helping others in need is inspiring and it was fantastic to hear her speak about all her achievements.
“Sometimes in society, people unfortunately slip through the net or are not identified by the means in place to protect them. That is why people like Hannah are so important. All the recipients of this award have stepped up to help identify and assist some of the most vulnerable in society and I commend them for that.”
