Whether you support it or not, the Government's decision to back a new runway at Heathrow in the Airports National Policy Statement (NPS) will have a huge impact on our economy and environment here in London.

I have always been clear about my opposition to the expansion of Heathrow and I voted against the NPS. Although I agree that we need to ensure the UK maintains its position as a global leader in aviation, I do not believe that Heathrow expansion is the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly option.

Although parliament voted in favour of the proposals set out in the NPS by a significant majority, I will be sure to keep updated with developments and work hard to ensure that Heathrow's expansion will have a minimal impact on my constituents.
