Matthew has been contacted by a number of Hendon residents regarding the extremely short period of time in which to submit comments on the planning applications relating to the Hendon Hub.
Matthew said: "I sympathise with their view. Having looked at the applications myself, there are over 500 documents to be scrutinised and even those with experience in this field would struggle to address all the applications in the time available. In addition, these applications are on the back of extensive consultations earlier in the year which many residents took time and effort to respond to.
"I have written to the Leader of Barnet Council, Dan Thomas, asking that, in the interests of transparency and reasonableness, the Council extends the deadline for the submission of comments.
"I believe residents deserve a fair opportunity to comment on applications which, potentially, will irrevocably change this part of Hendon for ever."
