Matthew attended Remembrance Services in the Borough over the weekend.
On Saturday, he attended the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen at Edgware Synagogue and on Sunday joining Barnet Council’s Civil Ceremony in Hendon.
Though diagnosed with COVID-19, Matthew fortunately able to complete his isolation in time to attend these events.
In Hendon, Matthew joined the Mayor of Barnet, local councillors, representatives from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, St John’s, Fire Brigade, community groups including the Scouts, Brownies and Cubs in laying wreaths at the Hendon War Memorial.
Matthew said “I have been attending the remembrance service in Hendon for 20 years now and every year is as valuable as the last. Making a small sacrifice and standing in the cold feeling unwell is nothing compared to people who ultimately sacrifice their lives for our future is."
"We will never forget them.”
