Matthew visited the Central Communications Command centre at the Peel Centre in Colindale to see how the Metropolitan Police deal with up to 10,000 emergency calls at this time of year.

Matthew met with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) at a Parliamentary reception where it launched its new report which reveals a regional variation in access to cataract surgery across England.

Matthew is pleased to confirm that following his representations to the Secretary of State, Michael Gove, and the Education Funding Agency, the Avanti House School will not be moving to a temporary site in The Fairway next to Fairway Primary School. 

Matthew is supporting a campaign run by charity The Reading Agency to encourage all primary school children to join their local library and take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge

Matthew attended Secretary of State Michael Gove’s office to press the Department for Education to consider alternative locations for the Avanti House School on Tuesday 9th July.
